The 2023 annual meeting of the Irish Freshwater Science Association (IFSA) will take place, in person, at the Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Galway (Dublin Road Campus) on 10th March. Our host this year is Dr Heather Lally.
- Session 1: The first session will cover topics related to ‘freshwater science in a changing world’ consisting of 12-minute presentations on well-advanced or completed projects. A panel discussion will be held at the end of each block of talks.
- Session 2: The second session (open theme) will include 7-minute presentations (plus 3 minutes for questions) on any on-going and new projects.
- Session 3: Elevator pitches on new projects (2 minutes max) – this year there will be a student prize for the best ‘elevator’ pitch, kindly sponsored by the Department of Natural Sciences and the Environment, ATU Galway, with the winner announced during the AGM.
IFSA AGM: The 2023 Annual General Meeting of the IFSA will occur immediately after Session 3. All members are encouraged to attend.
Abstract submission now open:
Please send your abstract (max 200 words) to admin@freshwaterscience.ie by 17.00 on 24th February 2023. If you are a student and wish to be considered for Session 3, and the prize, please indicate this on your email accompanying your abstract submission. Advance registration and payment of the non-refundable booking fee (€30) is necessary before Monday 6th March 2023. This includes your lunch and tea/coffees on the day of the meeting.
