IFSA Annual Meeting 2026 – Regisatration & abstract submission open!

Posted on 19/01/202621/01/2026

We are pleased to announce that the Annual Meeting of the Irish Freshwater Sciences Association (IFSA) will be held on Friday 13 March 2026 at Dublin City University (DCU), St. Patrick’s Campus, Drumcondra, Dublin, D09 YT18.

The meeting showcases Irish freshwater science and will be of interest to researchers and those involved in the management of water resources. Past IFSA meetings have attracted a good mix of academia, state agencies, private sector, and freshwater enthusiasts more generally, so it’s a great forum for hearing about the forefront of freshwater research and management in Ireland, networking and engaging in discussions in a friendly setting.

The meeting will have three sessions:

  • Session 1: Full talks, 12-15 mins
  • Session 2: Short talks, 7-10 mins
  • Session 3: Elevator pitches, 2 mins

Abstract submission will close on 15 February 2026 17:00.

Please email your abstract to admin@freshwaterscience.ie with “IFSA2026 Abstract” in the subject line.

Your submission should include: title, author(s), affiliation(s), abstract (max 200 words).

Please indicate which session you wish to be included in. You may not be guaranteed the session requested but organisers will do their best to accommodate all speakers.

**As in previous years there will be a prize (or prizes) for best student elevator pitch. Please indicate in your abstract submission email if you wish to be considered for student prize(s).**

Please email any queries you may have to: admin@freshwaterscience.ie

Register to attend – Please note this is an in-person event only.
